Red Rose 100, The Start
Enquiries phone number (on the day) 07555466069, please make a note of this number before you set off in case of travel delays etc.
Registration on the Day.
Walkers start: 7am until 9.30am. Runners start: 12 noon till 1.30pm.
Please note that those entrants being dropped off either by friends/family or minibus will be asked to walk down the drive from New Road. We need to minimise traffic within the grounds on this busy morning. Thank you for your understanding about this.
When you come to the Anderton Centre you will be directed to the registration desks which are in the buildings to the left of the main centre - there will be signage and Marshals to help. Registration is alphabetical. You will be given your tally and 2 baggage labels. We are using the same colours as previous Hundreds, Green to GO to the Breakfast stop and Red to STOP at Anderton. Baggage drop off is in the same area. Please ensure you tie the labels securely.
After you have registered please make your way to the main building where tea/coffee and toast will be available on 2 floors. Again, Marshals will be on hand to direct you. If you have time it is worth a walk down to the reservoir to look at the lovely setting you are in; please do not go in the water though! It is very cold. Also be aware that this is a boat slipway, there is a steep slope near the waters edge, caution is necessary.
There are also some garden areas to sit in on this special morning.
We do have a brass band which will be playing from 8.45am and will be sending you on your way at 10am with a final tune.
Anderton is a compact centre and we will be cosy at the start. For this reason we cannot accommodate supporters parking. Please click on the link below to see where there is free parking in the area. There is a Tea Shop and also refreshments at the Bowling green in Rivington.(both marked PW on the map) There are also toilets and refreshments at Great House Barn (note 4). The route passes on the path closest to the reservoir between note 2 and 4.
Please note: We have been informed that there is also a Duathlon in the Rivington area on the morning of the Red Rose 100. We have requested that the participants and supporters for this event park further away from Rivington village to maximise parking for Red Rose supporters.
