Accommodation Info

Aldersyde Bunkhouse is a purpose built bunkhouse on the beautiful Island of Arran (Scotland in miniature). Lamlash is a haven for golfers, there are 3x18 hole 1x12 hole and 3x9 hole golf courses all very reasonably priced. Arran - lovely coastal and forestry walks and Goatfell at 874 metres. Both loch and sea fishing are available with boats for hire or organised trips. Bird life is plentiful and varied. We are a short sail from the Holy Island which has been bought by Same Ling as a retreat, visitors are welcomed. The 'Waverley', the only remaining sea going paddle steamer in the world, calls at Arran twice weekly during the summer for trips on the Clyde. Arran offers a unique geology formation and is well used by universities. Brodick Castle and gardens are well worth a visit. There are standing stones at various sites, the most popular are at Machrie Moor. Crafts are part of island life and are varied, with visitor participation welcomed. A distillery and brewery are also very interesting. Food is available to suit all tastes, while the bunkhouse has limited self-catering with a new kitchen. Wheelchair friendly - electric wheelchair available.
