New Ing Lodge offers comfort and tranquillity at an affordable price, in the beautiful Lake District National Park. The Wainwright Coast to Coast walk passes the building and some of the best mountain biking routes in Britain are on the doorstep. Maps and guides are available for walkers, mountain bikes can be hired (with a special rate for residents), and there is an orienteering course outside the back door. Kayaking, climbing, wilderness camping and bushcraft skill courses can be arranged. New Ing Lodge is at the north-east of the Lake District National Park. Ideal for hiking on High Street Roman Road, the Haweswater valley, the Eden Valley and the less-visited Howgill Fells. For a more relaxed day, there is Shap Abbey, or the Rheged Discovery Centre with an Imax cinema and the National Mountain Exhibition. New Ing is ideal for individuals, groups or a families. Activity breaks for children (with out without their parents) are run by the owner, who is a school Head of Sports teacher.
