On the edge of the fishing village of Beer, this light and airy Arts & Crafts country house, once a smugglers’ haunt, has a large lawned garden. It’s a relaxing hostel with child-friendly facilities. Activities nearby include mackerel fishing, a visit to the Quarry Caves or a ride on the miniature steam train at Pecorama. Take a stroll along the South West Coast Path or head a little further to hunt for fossils on Charmouth Beach.
