With its own crags, streams, lakes and over 100-acres of mature woodland, Shining Cliff has everything on its doorstep. The hostel is ideal for schools, youth groups, clubs and groups of families and friends wishing to enjoy time away in a peaceful woodland setting. The entrance porch, with space for hanging coats and boots, leads into the open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge area. In the well equipped kitchen, there is a six-ring gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and water boiler. The dining area comfortably seats 20 people whilst the lounge provides seating and space to relax. The hostel offers a full range of activities, some are on-site such as bushcraft, abseiling, ecology and environmental art. Climbing, caving or canoeing can be enjoyed a little further afield.
Although the hostel is well hidden and nestled within woodland, there are a number of pubs and local attractions nearby along with convenient transport links to and from Derby and Nottingham.
