Cheshire Circuit

Cheshire, Shropshire

The Cheshire Circuit follows the Sandstone Trail south to Whitchurch, over the border in Shropshire, taking in Delamere Forest, the Peckforton Hills and Bickerton Hills along the way. The route then heads east along quiet lanes and footpaths to the Shropshire Union Canal at Audlem. A mixture of canal, field paths and minor roads are used to follow the course of the River Weaver as closely as possible, passing through the towns of Nantwich, Winsford and Northwich. Frodsham Marsh is crossed to where the River Weaver empties into the Manchester Ship Canal and a return is made to Frodsham.
