Eden Valley Loops - Cumbria's Bridleway

The Eden Valley Loops showcase the beautiful scenery of the Lake District perfectly. Close to the Scottish Borders and Yorkshire Dales the routes encompass multi-user 84 miles (135km) of dramatic landscape around Ullswater and the North Pennines. Whether you're enjoying a holiday with your horse, bicycle or on foot or live locally and just enjoy exploring there is something for everyone on these excellent and diverse trails. Eden Valley Loop 1 16km (10miles) is a high level circuit just south of Pooley Bridge and Helton visiting High Street, Loadpot Hill, Cockle Hill and returning via Askham Fell. Eden Valley Loop 2 34km (21 miles) is circuit in the north eastern lakes visiting Helton, Newby Head and Bampton mainly at lower levels and straddling the River Lowther Valley. Eden Valley Loop 3 34km (21miles) is a circuit to the east of the M6 near Shap via Newby, Morland, King's Meaburn, Mauld's Meaburn, Crosby Ravenworth, Oddendale and Sleagill and is mainly tracks and roads with only four miles on exposed moorland. Eden Valley Loop 4 29km (18miles) is a circuit around Great Asby using field tracks and minor roads. Eden Valley Loop 5 21km (13miles) is a challenging route around Crosby Garrett and crossing both Crosby Garrett Fell and Smardale Fell to the north of Newbiggin on Lune.
