The Epynt Way is a 80 km/ 50 mile permissive path which follows the approximate boundary of the Sennybridge Training Area, (SENTA). The uplands of the Epynt Plateau lie between the Brecon Beacons to the South and the Cambrian Mountains to the North.

Being in an upland area it contains steep and boggy sections that require extra care. The route is waymarked throughout with 1.2 metre posts and finger posts at junctions with external paths.

There are 5 circular walks at different points around the path giving the walker an opportunity to explore surrounding areas.

Mynydd Epynt is a wild plateau covered largely by blanket bog and grass, cut by streams valleys with woodland and meadows that flow south to the River Usk. The area became famous as the breeding ground for Welsh Cobs - the very name Epynt originating from an ancient expression meaning "haunt of horse". Epynt was the ancestral home of a community of Welsh speaking hill farmers until 1940 when most of it was compulsorily purchased by the War Department for use as an artillery training area.

Live firing takes place most days on Sennybridge, and as the Epynt Way does not encroach on the Impact area the public can still use the Epynt Way ensuring they stay on the clearly marked route.
