Mourne Wall Challenge

A very challenging walk following the historic Mourne Wall. The summits include Slieve Binnian, Wee Binnian, Slievenaglogh, Slieve Muck, Carn Mountain, Slieve Loughshannagh, Slieve Meelbeg, Slieve Meelmore, Slieve Bearnagh, a more northerly Slievenaglogh, Slieve Commedagh and finally Slieve Donard (at 853m the highest mountain in Northern Ireland). Parts of the route can be quite boggy.

Group size should be limited to 12 due to erosion issues around the fragile Mourne wall.

The Mourne Wall was built between 1904 and 1922 in an effort to keep cattle and sheep out of the water catchment area of the Silent Valley reservoir.
