Staunton Way

Hampshire

The Staunton Way is a combination of routes connecting Queen Elizabeth Country Park with Staunton Country Park, Havant which together can make a circular route of 21 miles. It roughly follows the Hampshire/Sussex border south through Chalton and Finchdean and after visiting Staunton Country Park returns via Stansted Forest and Ditcham Park School and along the undulating ridge of the downs above Buriton.

It is named after Sir George Staunton, an early 19th century Portsmouth MP who created a country estate, which now forms the Staunton Country Park.

Note that the 2004 leaflet map shows the old route through Staunton Country Park. The e-book describes the route starting from Staunton Country Park.
