White Rose Challenge Walk

Cleveland, N Yorkshire

56 km / 35 miles
A route created by the Yorkshire Wayfarers in the late 60s and which originally provided alternative distances. It follows the course of the Cleveland Way National Trail for much of the route taking in Sneck Yate, Thimbleby Moor, Sheepwash, Clay Bank and Kildale, basically linking the landmarks of the White Horse and Roseberry Topping.

The route between Kilburn and Roseberry detailed by George Garbutt is different from that in the booklet written by Darryl Dawson. The Garbutt route is shorter, some 31 miles, and goes via Armsgill Ridge and Chop Gate.

The track file, download below, shows the George Garbutt route as a branch where it differs from the Darryl Dawson version.
