The hills and moors of the southern slopes of Teesdale, often overlooked by walkers who head over the hill to the more popular slopes of Swaledale or further west to the wilderness of Upper Teesdale. But look more closely and you'll find an area that in it's own way will rival either of these two spots.
This 24 mile walk zig-zags it's way over Barningham Moor then climbs over the watershed to enter the Yorkshire Dales National Park. A long climb back up and over brings you to the delights of the Stang Forest before returning back to Barningham.
This ever-changing route with it's moorland and forest paths, it's airy views and hidden valleys will both challenge and delight the long distance walker.
