Based loosely on a roughly north-south 'roman' road of dubious parentage this awesome route will extract every last ounce of trail expertise, endurance and endorphin-enhanced enjoyment from your body.
Sustrans took years putting in place a roughly parallel route. Their ticklish problem was having to traverse the tortured terrain of the Cambrian Mountains yet keep the biking within the bounds of a beginner. In the effort they circumnavigate Snowdonia, keep to road and forest fire roads and virtually quit off-road altogether in the south - we rough it in spectacular fashion, right to the very end - the tip of the Gower Peninsula at Worm's Head.
