Weathering storms and scaling mountains — it's not just what our members do. It's what we've been doing as an organisation. COVID-19 tossed curveballs our way, and yet, here we are. Growing, evolving, and catering to 11,000 members who live for the long-distance — be it walking, jogging, or racing. We've been short-handed but never short on spirit. To continue this growth, we're calling on you. We need an Admin Assistant for our NEC to keep the wheels turning smoothly.
The Role
The Admin Assistant will be the silent engine of the National Executive Committee (NEC). Meetings will be your domain — from planning to minuting, you'll make sure they're a hit every time.
Responsibilities

Develop and maintain administrative procedures for effective NEC meetings.
Planner Extraordinaire:
Schedule NEC meetings, book venues, and sort accommodation.
Budget Wizard:
Manage allocated funds for meetings and stay within budget.

Assemble agendas, reports, and other key documents on time, every time.
Note Taker:
Attend NEC meetings and pen down minutes.
Post-Meeting Pro:
Distribute minutes, gain approvals, and update files promptly.
Innovator:
Suggest ways to streamline NEC meeting admin and storage systems.
Time Commitment
You're looking at roughly 4 hours per week. Though the role is flexible, the run-up to formal NEC meetings will be your busy season.
Essentials
- Meticulous and highly organised.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office, Zoom, and MS Teams.
- Discreet and trustworthy.
- Team player, through and through.
Reporting
You'll be answering to the Secretary of the LDWA.
Concluding Remarks
We’ve been fire-fighting for the last couple of years, pivoting and adapting. Now, it's time for building — and for that, we need you. Come join us in nurturing a legacy and shaping the future of long-distance walking and running. If you can juggle tasks as easily as our members tackle trails, we want to hear from you.
Please note that this is a voluntary role.
