Oxfam Trailtrekker and Trailwalker

Posted on 2009-01-13

For those of you looking for a longer route, perhaps as preparation for the 2010 Hundred, Oxfam is organising two different 100 km routes this year, Trailwalker and Trailtrekker. These events are very popular but there are still a few spaces left.

Trailtrekker 100km, 30-31st May 2009
Trailtrekker is a completely new event so you could be among the first to attempt it. Like Trailwalker, it involves walking 100 km in teams of four, within 30 hours. The money you raise goes to Oxfam.
The route cuts across some of the most stunning landscapes in the Yorkshire Dales, starting and ending in Skipton, taking in the summit of Pen-y-gent along the way.
You will need maps Explorer 2 (Yorkshire Dales - Southern & Western areas) and 30 (Yorkshire Dales - Northern & Central areas). Buy them at a discount in our maps section.

Trailwalker 100km, 18-19th July 2009
Trailwalker is a 100 kilometre walk for teams of four in tough conditions to be completed within 30 hours. The route mainly follows the South Downs Way, starting in Petersfield and finishing in Brighton. Trailwalker is a chance to make new friends, to get out, get fit and to raise money for Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust.
