It is with great sadness that we learn of the death of Ernie Bishop, LDWA legend and former national and Kent chairman.  He was 88, and died on 6th March 2016.

Ernie served on the national committee for 12 years, as chairman from 1988 to 1990 and previously as membership secretary.  He was also the first chairman of Kent Group.

Ernie’s funeral will be held on Wednesday 16th March in the Cemetery Chapel at Tunbridge Wells Crematorium, starting at 11am.  The crematorium is located in Benhall Mill Road, off Forest Road, and is the second entrance on the right (NB there is new road construction on the A21 if coming from the north).

Our thoughts go out to Ernie’s wife Celia, daughter Sally, son Peter, his five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
