Surrounded by woodland, our hostel is situated on the boundary of the Cairngorms National Park, a short walk from Aviemore town centre. It's the ideal place to stay for outdoor activities or for visiting the surrounding area.
The youth hostel provides a great range of facilities including multi-share and private rooms, a well-equipped self-catering kitchen, a spacious dining area, a large drying room and ample parking for cars and buses. There is also a large open lounge which provides stunning views of the Cairngorm Mountains and surrounding woodland where red squirrels and other wildlife are often spotted.
Aviemore Youth Hostel hosts a Scottish Natural Heritage visitor centre, including the Peregrine nestcam and helpful information about Craigellachie National Nature Reserve so visitors are welcome to pop in at any time.
Situated just nine miles from the Cairngorm mountain funicular and snowsports area, Aviemore Youth Hostel provides an ideal base for year-round activities, including hillwalking, climbing, snowsports, mountain biking, pony trekking, sailing, kayaking, windsurfing watersports and fishing. Most activities take place on the Rothiemurchus Estate, a fabulous area with many easy paths through the Caledonian Pine forest.
