Hawse End Centre, at the head of the magnificent Borrowdale Valley and directly across Derwentwater from Keswick, has stunning views and access to lakeside, mountains and Keswick (via launch or lakeside walk). Hawse End House is a large, comfortable, country mansion, ideal for groups. It has 50 beds, large dining room, lounge, games room, classroom and extensive grounds leading down to the lake shore. Hawse End Cottage has 24 beds for individuals, families and groups in a cosy, homely environment. It has a basic self-catering kitchen, a living room and a patio with picnic tables and views of the lake. Two large Yurts (sleeping up to 12 each) with stunning views and transparent domes for star gazing, are on a wooden platform close to the house. These felt and wood structures have electric, tables and chairs (optional) and mats for sleeping on. On the platform are picnic tables seating up to 24, a gas barbeque and water. Toilets are close by and showers a short walk away. A catering service, including buffets and barbecues may be available in the accommodation, by prior arrangement. Outdoor activities may be available.
