Close to the idyllic fishing village of Ullapool, and Braemore Junction, location of the spectacular Measach Falls in the Corrieshalloch Gorge, Forest Way is set in the heart of the glacial valley Strath More, next to the river Broom. A perfect base for climbers with 22 Munros and many Corbetts and Grahams in the area.; Walkers will enjoy the variety of walks in the area from mountains to beaches and the Lael forest, renowned for its wildlife, The hostel is ideally located for touring the North West Highlands with easy access to the circuit round to Gairloch and Loch Maree which passes Inverewe Gardens, and the beautiful ancient landscape of the Assynt Geopark. Ullapool, the gateway to the Western Isles with its ferry services to Stornaway, offers fantastic places to eat, in particular its excellent fresh seafood. Hostel guests are welcome to relax in the garden and enjoy the many birds that visit us. You may even see one of our visiting red squirrels and pine martens.
