ALDI recently had walking socks, which were lined, at £2.99. I wore them for the WHW last week and they were superb.

Personally I am more than happy with ALDI running socks at around three quid a pair, used them on all terrains and distances including the HOS and UTLD 100 to good effect, of course we are all different an what suits one person my well not suit another.

Hi All, Been shopping for some Xtra socks for the 100 - for my feet I like Bridgedales Womens Endurance. The local walking shop (Campfour) where they retail at £11.99 was out of stock for my size, so I went to Millets and then Yeomans - here they retailed at £13.99!!
I was not anticipating such a price hike at larger chain stores compared with a local specialist shop.
Perhaps LDWA members noticing such discrepancies can highlight - a kind of soft lobbying against price pushing.
