John,

I've done Nijmegen before too and the advice given is right. The marches start from the same point each day in a sort of four leafed clover configuration, so that you do a different route every day. I'm sure you will be able to pitch a tent but you won't have to carry it every day!

Thanks for your kind offer Norman. I (we!) will give you a ring when our 'stuff' arrives from Nijmegen, I'm sure we'll have loads of questions then!

Thanks,

John

John yes it is. If you want to give me a call about it then feel free to do so. My home phone number is 01908 608667. As I said I've not been since 1993 but I can tell you about the overall atmosphere of the event or point you in the general direction of someone else who has been recently.

Thanks for your reply Norman. Does this mean that each day-long march is a circular route ending back at Nijmegen?

John I've done Nijmegen several times but not camped. Correct me if I'm wrong but I get the impression that you believe you might have to camp in a different place at the end of each day's walk. You don't. Once you arrive in Nijmegen you pitch your tent (at a normal quite civilised camp site) and stay there for each of the days that you are walking.
Most of the time you'll be out socialising anyway (both on the walk and post walk). I haven't been for some 13 years now but can assure you that it is the most fantastic experience ever.

I've applied to take part in this year's 4 Day March, the 50km per day option.

Has anyone camped on this event? My idea (so far) is to take seiously light-weight kit and camp at the overnight stops. Has anyone tried this? Any advice is most welcome.

Ta,

John
