They give discounts for clothes, but as far as RA members, they do not give discounts for boots due to time of fitting seen as a big cost..
They are very good.

Can anyone confirm if a discount for LDWA members has been agreed here as I'm about to arrange a visit and likely purchase of some boots? Thanks.

Hi Louise.

I''m responsible for arranging discounts and have contacted Warm & Dry to see if they will offer members a discount. I'll let you know one way or the other.

Thanks for letting me know about it.

Just sharing in case it helps anyone. Today I visited 'Warm & Dry' - a small shop in the village of Whalley in Lancs - offering a 'specialist' boot fitting service. Reason for my visit - is my right foot is getting really battered and tattered in walks at the moment - and has also been the reason for my 'retirement' around 60 miles on 100s.

Anyway - for those of you who like to wear boots - you might enjoy a visit to this outfit. They have five difference widths of boots. If you want the individual attention - you can book. It is a busy little place - but there is no rushing you or pushing you into buying something. You sit up high on little perches - while having feet measured/assessed. They match the shape of your foot to the 'last' of the boot. I was also given a cup of tea!

They have a website. If a picture of a foot with black toenails and a fabulous back of the heel blister appear - it is mine! With my permission they took a photo of last weeks damage on the 'Golden Fleece'.

Maybe the LDWA Committee can negotiate a % reduction for members?

Louise
