The Rhondda Rollercoaster is now full. No more entries will be taken for the event and we're not having a waiting list. Thanks for the support everyone! To be full prior to the event is a first for us!

There are just over 30 places left on the Rhondda Rollercoaster Challenge event that takes place on the 9th May.
If you intend entering, I'd suggest that you may wish to do it sooner rather than later as at the current rate, we will be full by the end of February.

You can enter on line at:

https://www.sientries.co.uk/event.php?event_id=1547

This year we have a newly designed badge especially made for the event and this will be on sale at £2.

Work has started on the 2015 Rhondda Rollercoaster by volunteers from the South Wales LDWA group. The event isn't being held until the 9th May next year, but a new route after Checkpoint 1 was explored today.

Last year a new wind farm was built above the village of Gilfach Goch and it caused us some issues with a necessary diversion into the forestry. Well today, we can report that a new route has been checked, and means open views with a wonderful new valley to explore. It really is a fine route that provides magnificent views over the Ogmore Valley to the west.

Entries ARE open for this popular challenge walk and we have already taken several entries via our on-line entry process. We have a limit of 250 people, so don't leave your entry too late or you might be disappointed.

After a break of one year due to a small 100 mile adventure in 2014, the Rhondda Rollercoaster will return in 2015.
Entries are now open and online entry can be found at:

https://www.sientries.co.uk/admin/events/view_event.php?event_id=1547

At three weeks before the main 100 mile event, and with a route that covers 26 miles with some significant climbing, you will probably find that this is a great preparatory walk for the big 'un.
In 2013, the last time we held the event, we were very close to our limit. So, in order not to be disapointed, early entry might be advised.

Regards,

David Morgan
