I'd like to bring members' attention to Saturday 8th October when the London Group will be organising the 20th Founders Challenge event.

I am assured that it will be a glorious autumn day in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty: wonderful forest and downland with fine views. There are 27 mile and 16 mile routes passing by places that inspired - and are named after! - LDWA's founders. A commemorative water bottle and a certificate will be awarded to all entrants.

Lifts to the start will be arranged on request from Guildford and Dorking stations so don't be swayed by rumours that (for southern England!) it's a bit remote. Part of the entry fee goes to local countryside charities and this year £1/entry will go towards the refurbishment of Peaslake Memorial Hall, as always our start & finish point.
