I keep downloading, from my GPS, challenge event routes into tracklogs and then posting them on my website at www.alangreenwood.biz/walkingpage/index.html I do not know if anyone ever looks or makes use of this information. Of course I do not get the route 100% right all the time but I do try to make corrections where I know have gone wrong.

Hi John,

Yes you're right some graphics should be included. However the badge pages are blank because I scanned them with a white background. Haven't got round to changing them into gifs with transparent back grounds. Also we looking towards doing the whole thing automatically withn a database which will speed things up. I've got Tony new webpage and when I got five minutes I'll update the broken links.

Simon

PS have a got at emailing me again.

Good idea Simon. I have still got a signed copy of Tony's Moorland Challenge book and I was only looking at it 2 weeks ago.

Site is good but is a bit spartan, even a coloured background might help. I noted that the link to Tony's site failed but the others I tried looked OK.

Just needs a bit more polish to make it better, a bit more visual attractiveness.

PS Tried to email you several times but no response

John

Thanks for the feedback guys...

I'll sort out the broken links and hopefully put more info. on the site when I do the walks, note the site will not be limited to yorkshire, as I did the Grindleford Gallop last Saturday.

Also I intend to put Memory-Map, Tracklogs & Anquet routes on here too, when I do them.

I enjoyed the site, if you are impatient and want to get a rough idea of the route before they send you the route description just plot the grid ref for the cp's, bearing in mind these can change, but at least you get a rough idea of the route and terrain.

This is a good repository of local event walks and information. If route files could be included for download and import into mapping software it would be very useful.

A few links are broken, the ones I've noticed are the 2 at the bottom of the Lyke Wake Walk page and the link to the site of Tony Wimbush.

Hi,

I've put together a website detailing past events, so they don't die. The format is based on Tony Wimbush's book Moorland Challenge, who has kindly let me use information from this book to create this site. Can I ask members of the LDWA to look at the site and let me know, if they are happy with the content, as it lists people's walks and show pictures of their badges. I've been in contact with a few people about the site and have the blessing.

Cheers Simon.
