In order to provide as sufficient notice period as practicable and possible the following information is being published initially in the Hundreds Forum and will appear as part of a more detailed article in April 2019 Strider.

We moved to ?online pre-selection entry only? as a means to significantly reduce volunteer entry secretary workloads. This time saved has now been far exceeded by trying to answer individual enquires by potential entrants in relation to non LDWA events. We can't allow this to continue and something needs to be done particularly with the proliferation and mass participation in endurance events outside of the LDWA and potential impact in future years.

The qualification period for a Hundred starts in the preceding year on the 01 January. I thought it best to give visibility ASAP albeit via the Forum as it may have an impact on potential entrants planning and choice of qualification for Y 100 Sir Fynwy being held in 2020.

Notice is hereby given that as from 01 January 2019 (and until further notice) ONLY the events listed will be accepted for pre-selection entry applications to any official LDWA Hundred event in 2020 and beyond.

The very limited number of non-LDWA events will remain qualifiers, consistently year on year unless they no longer satisfy qualifying event criteria. Additions to the list of non-LDWA events will be controlled by, and at the discretion of the NEC 100s Coordinator. The revised criteria below is both approved and supported by the National Executive Committee as a whole.

LDWA Events:

Completion of 50 miles or further in marshals? or main annual 100 event.
Completion of any LDWA marshals? or main event of 50 miles or further in total distance.
Completion of at least 50 miles in any marshals? or main event of more than 50 miles in total distance.

Non LDWA Events:

The Bullock Smithy
The Fellsman
Shropshire Way (80 km)

Furthermore the events below do not satisfy minimum criteria and will no longer be considered as valid qualifiers.

Longmynd Hike - (In excess of 500 entrants)
Round Rotherham - (16 hour time limit)
Hardmoors series such as 55/50 - (16 hour cut off plus significant way marking that means entrant has little or no need for route description, map and compass).
