Many of you will have met Frances at challenge events around the country. Frances was a member of the 100 Marathon Club and had completed well over 300 marathons. When we introduced Frances to the LDWA she could not believe the amount of events on offer and when she tried one, she was astounded by the hospitality, friendliness and atmosphere of the events.

Unfortunately Frances lost her long battle with cancer at the end of last week. She was always so positive and was doing events up to quite recently. She was the most wonderful person - so positive, happy and a pleasure to be with.

You will remember her if you saw her because she was known as "The Cat Woman" due to the fact that she opened her home to probably thousands of cats over the years as a volunteer with a cat welfare charity.

I anyone would like to celebrate Frances and remember her, her funeral is on Monday 23rd September at 2.30pm at Fenland Crematorium near March, Cambridgeshire.

We consider it a privilege to have known Frances and I am sure many of you will agree.
