John, I agree. Having to cancel / reschedule a challenge walk is one of the worst nightmares for local group event organisers. Particularly at short notice - and for reasons quite beyond the control of the group. Beats me how we stay sane..

Several events recently have fallen victim to the weather and as entrants it is extremely frustrating. However this pales into insignificance to the frustrations faced by event organisers - notifying entrants of changes, rebooking rooms, organising refunds, ensuring adequate marshalls for any rearrangement, route diversions & reorganising catering just to name a few.
How about everybody make an effort and help on an event in some capacity this year to ease the load of the organisers.

A report on current weather conditions can be found on the event website at www.alangreenwood.biz/index.html The short route underfoot is passable and we are looking at possible diversions to avoid the impassable snowdrifts on the latter part of the long route. A further bulletin will be issued in 7 days time.
