Hi Peter, Nicky Wood here, currently of Lake District, but hey, you must have forgotten I'm from the Cotswolds - I come from Winchcombe North Cotswolds. I know the Northern Cotswolds like the back of my hand (what's that). Good accommodation available in Winchcombe 18 miles into the route, and at Campben at the start. I stayed at Campden at the old Bakehouse B and B Lower High Street, nice. Tea shops in Campden and also in Winchcombe. Good food at the Corner Cupboard in Winchcombe (pub also does some accommodation I think). Or the White Hart Pub. Then you can walk on to Severn Springs where there is a hotel in middle of no where or on to the next hotel which is the hot air baloon, close to Birdlip, or even a little further (I did this) to the Goerge Hotel at Birdlip. All nice. Then we walked on to Dursley and stayed at a B and B there, but not great town to eat out in. I'd say better to stay at Severn Springs hotel after Winchcombe, then go on to Painswick (nice town, few pubs and cafes, famous for yew trees in church yard) and then walk on beyond Dursley the next day. Perhaps somewhere at Wooton under edge. Old Sodbury is quite nice and has a pub.

I live in Bristol so know the southern section.

The answer is there is not a lot. Working north from Bath I can think of the following:

Cold Ashton - nothing to my knowledge.
Pennsylvania - garage for snacks etc.
Dyrham - nothing to my knowledge.
M5 junc 18 - might be a catering caravan in the picnic site on the south side of the junction.
Tormarton - Pub does meals.
Old Sodbury - Pub does meals, village shop/post office down A432 about 200 yds.
Horton - nothing to my knowledge.
Hawkesbury Upton - Pub, should be big enough for a shop but I can't think of one.
Hillesley - don't know.
Wootton-under-edge - small town but I couldn't find a tea shop some years ago.
Dursley - small town.
Uley - Pub at the top end of the village by the church if you fancy a detour. I've sat on the green at the front before now.
I'm struggling now.
Little up to Stroud.
Painswick - pubs and shops, should be tea room somewhere.

Four East Lancs members are walking the Way in early May. We know the Way is being upgraded in 2007, and we are finding information not easy to come accross. Any pointers out there?
Which guide book to choose? Good pubs,tea rooms, B&B's.

Most of our other week long walks have taken place "Ooop North" and we always found lots of info. Have we been spoilt?
