Newry Canal Way

Armagh

The Newry Canal Way follows the towpath of the now disused canal that was the first summit-level canal in the United Kingdom. The mostly off-road route, part of Route 9 National Cycle Network, passes 13 lock gates, Lough Shark, and the villages of Scarva, Poyntzpass and Jerrettspass. Interpretation panels and sculptures are found at several points along the route.

The path forms part of the Ulster Way and connects with the Ring of Gullion Way.
