South Downs National Trail - Jevington Alternative

This option from Alfriston offers a quieter alternative to the main route and has some beautiful views. From Windover Hill a short detour is worthwhile to see the 'Long Man of Wilmington', the largest chalk hill figure of a man in Britain. The village of Jevington has a blue plaque marking the site of the restaurant where Banoffee Pie was invented. A final climb over Willingdon Hill offers fine sea views on the way to Eastbourne.

Using this alternative reduces the overall distance of the National Trail by 2.5 miles.
