St Margaret's Way - The Elbow

This extension of St Margaret's Way starts at Earlsferry, where pre-Reformation pilgrims landed on their way to St Andrews. Instead of going directly north and inland, St Margaret's Elbow continues east round the coast on the Fife Coastal path through ancient fishing villages along beaches and over rocks until the spires of St Andrews come into view over miles of rolling fairways. The path continues up through the harbour into the precincts of the ruined cathedral.

Some great geology along the way, including boulders dumped by melting glaciers and the footprints left by animals 330 million years ago.
