Wat's Dyke is a 40-mile earthwork running through the northern Welsh Marches in pastoral countryside via Maesbury in Shropshire passing to the east of Oswestry to Basingwerk Abbey on the River Dee estuary. It runs generally parallel to Offa's Dyke, sometimes within a few yards but never more than three miles away. The route also includes Overton, Wrexham, Caergwrie, New Brighton and Rhosesmar.

In November 2023, Oswestry Ramblers has advised that the section of Wat?s Dyke Way from the Montgomery Canal to the A483 on the outskirts of Oswestry has been re-routed to provide a more enjoyable experience and to provide a safer crossing of the A483. The route is now almost stile free with gates having replaced stiles. At the A483 there is still a need to cross (but not walk alongside, as on the old route); this is an interim solution with plans in place for an underpass alongside the River Morda under the A483. The mapping on this site and the GPX provided below both reflect this change and OS has been informed, but OS Maps will not show the new route until their mapping is updated.
