Volunteer Awards for 2023

Posted on 2023-01-12

Once again we’re asking for nominations to recognise some of the fabulous work which members do in providing a huge range of activities for the Long Distance Walkers Association. Whether the volunteer is a committee member of a geographical group, a challenge event organiser, a social walk leader, or a volunteer who helps with delivering some of the many activities that are offered via our comprehensive website and social media channels, we simply couldn’t do what we do without our dedicated volunteers. They are a fabulous example of how all can have a positive impact on others and it is only right that we value their contributions.

This year there will be three categories of awards.

  • Innovation Award – for someone who has either done something new or has changed the way that something has been done

  • Inspiration & Encouragement Award – for someone who has inspired or encouraged others to do something within the LDWA

  • Eager Beaver Award – for someone who has beavered away in the background to ensure an LDWA event or group runs smoothly

Nominations should be sent to Bill Milbourne, General Secretary, secretary@ldwa.org.uk This should include the name of the person (or group of people) you wish to nominate, the category, your name and LDWA membership number, and why you think they should receive an award (maximum 200 words). Closing date for nominations is Saturday 4th February 2023, and the winners announced at the AGM on Sunday 12th March 2023.
