Somerset

19 km / 12 miles
The walk links the Coleridge Way in Somerset and the England Coast Path. It starts from the mediaeval market town of Nether Stowey, with its large motte with two baileys castle probably built in the middle of the 12th century and abandoned by 1485. The route heads northwards passing through the village of Stogursey and the remains of the second castle on the route before continuing to reach the coast. It then returns to Nether Stowey by a different route. There is a free download from Somerset County Council's website which gives a detailed route description, together with historical information of sights along the route.
