Maldon's Twin Rounds

Essex

58 km / 36 miles
From Maldon's library the north-east loop stays close to the River Blackwater until heading east in Braxted Park to return to Maldon by way of Great Braxted, Beacon Hill (83m), Great Totham and Heybridge. The south-west loop passes the Hythe on its southerly journey to Mundon picking up St Peter's Way until west of Purleigh. The villages of Runsell Green and Woodham Walter are passed, the Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation is followed to Beeleigh Falls on the return to Maldon.

The route started life as two separate loops used as sponsored walks in the 1960s. They were first joined together in 2001.
