Surrey

The River Wey Navigations, comprising the Godalming and Wey Navigations, provide a canal towpath walk that connects Godalming - south of Guildford - with the River Thames at Weybridge. It passes through the centre of Guildford, with its past canalside industries now being re-used for housing and modern commerce, then across water meadows and finally along green waterside corridors through the Surrey suburbs to reach the Thames.

In Guildford Dapdune Wharf (on the opposite, east side of the river) is a National Trust Visitor Centre that provides the route publications listed below. En route the Riverside Nature Reserve, the Royal Horticultural Society Wisley Gardens (linked by footpaths; with entrance fee payable) and numerous locks are passed. There are good public transport links to the ends of the route, with stations at Guildford, Byfleet and Weybridge nearby.

North from the intersection of the River Wey with the North Downs Way National Trail, first the Wey-South Path/Godalming Navigation and then from Millmead Lock (SU995491) in Guildford the Wey Navigation forms the route of the E2 E-Route up to the Thames and this is marked on OS mapping as E2 (ELDR).
