England Coast Path - Whitehaven To Silecroft

Cumbria

A 32 mile long section of the England Coast Path from Whitehaven, heading southwards to Silecroft. The route starts with the classical coastal walk to St Bees, passing the official start of Alfred Wainwright's famous 'Coast to Coast' walk including the highest cliffs in the north west of England. It then passes Sellafield, the seaside village of Seascale and Ravenglass. Just off the route, there are several railway stations which could be used to split the section into shorter stretches.
There are two short, approved alternative routes in the areas around Sellafield and Ravenglass Stations. These have not been included here.
