A route created and promoted by the local Ramblers' Association Group, it circumvents Accrington, passing through pastures, moorland villages and close to reservoirs. The booklet publication includes details of two other routes which take advantage of parts of the main Clog route. They are the Canal Clog (20 miles), using part of the towpath of the Leeds to Liverpool Canal, and the Moorland Heights Clog (18 miles).
