Paulinus Way

N Yorkshire, W Yorkshire, York

The Paulinus Way starts in Todmorden on the Yorkshire/Lancashire border retracing the steps of Paulinus until it reaches the historic city of York.
A fantastic route across what was old Northumbria, passing through an amazingly beautiful landscape, previously unseen by many, whilst creating opportunities to explore site of heritage significance. The route visits Hebden Bridge, Halifax, Dewsbury, Leeds, Tadcaster and York.

The route description offers several different options. The downloadable route file is, therefore, not definitive, and should be seen as just one of many possible routes, some of which are much shorter.

UPDATE September 2021 - We have been advised that as part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade, Network Rail are proposing to close Copmanthorpe (Bishopthorpe) level crossing. This LDP currently uses this crossing. If, and when, a decision is made to reroute the PROW in this area, we will adjust our GPX files.
