Invalid Image SizeStour Valley Path (East Anglia)

Cambridgeshire, Essex, Suffolk

96 km / 60 miles
The Path follows the river valley downstream and links the Icknield Way path, which it crosses at Stetchworth, with Sudbury and the Essex Way at Manningtree passing through some of the most attractive country in East Anglia, including Constable country towards the end around East Bergholt. It provides part of the E2 E-Route. The waymarked Bury to Clare Walk (19 miles and on OS mapping) provides a link from the Path at Clare Castle to Bury St Edmunds (see St Edmund Way).

UPDATE: September 2022:
The Fen Bridge footbridge over the River Stour (Grid Reference TM 068 336) is due to be replaced in September 2022. Its closure (early 2020) and removal (since January 2022) have meant diversions via Dedham Hall.
UPDATE 20th September 2022: Fen Bridge has been replaced on schedule, and is due to re-open on October 9th 2022.
