Teesdale Challenge Walk - Hamsterley

Durham

27 km / 17 miles
An anytime challenge walk, which can be rough and wet underfoot in places, over Monk's Moor to Great Eggles Hope, along Wire Gill and Candleseive Sike. A track leads along Sharnberry Beck to reach Hamsterley Forest. After leaving the forest Egglestone Common is crossed and later the Teesdale Way is picked up for the riverside return to Middleton-in-Teesdale.

The walk is one of four in the 'Gold' Challenge series promoted by the Upper Teesdale Tourism Network. A detailed route description is provided on the website below. After completing two walks a certificate can be claimed.
