Traditional Hostels Lakes Walk

Cumbria

This route was devised to connect the smaller traditional style youth hostels, namely Thirlmere, Carrock Fell, Skiddaw House, Cockermouth, Ennerdale, Black Sail and Honister House. An additional spur to the south of Honister allows for visits to three other hostels at Grasmere, Elterwater and Coniston, and adds about 20 miles to the walk.

Route Description and Schematic Maps made available as 'Downloads' by kind permission of Martyn Hanks who designed these routes to encourage walking and use of the 'Youth Hostels' some of which are now sadly closed. However there are other accommodation options where hostels have closed.
